Golf Volunteers

Thank you for volunteering your time in support of the 32nd  Annual Davidson-Davie Foundation Golf Tournament on Thursday, May 2nd at Sapona Golf Club in Lexington.

Tournament Location:
Sapona Golf Club
439 Beaver Creek Rd.
Lexington, NC 27295
336-956-6245

Food!

For those working in the morning, we will have coffee and donuts available near the pro shop. For everyone working the tournament, please join us for lunch in the clubhouse when your shift allows. For those volunteers whose shift begins at 1:00 pm, please be sure to arrive early enough to enjoy your lunch before your shift.

Arrival:

Upon your arrival at the course, please check in at the clubhouse.  You’ll see our team set up outside the Pro Shop, to the right of the main doors. During your check-in, you will be given detailed instructions on your volunteer assignment and any tools (measuring tapes, a radio, pens, prizes, etc…) that you may need.

Start Times:

Please arrive no later than a half-hour before the start of your shift. For those who have a shift that begins at 1:00 pm, please arrive earlier to enjoy lunch first.

Weather:
In the event of bad weather, please check this website for updates on any course closures or tournament cancellations. It is our hope to make any cancellations the day before the tournament, but if that’s not possible please check back here for updates. Be sure to wear sunscreen. You may want to consider bringing a hat and sunglasses. We will provide water.

What to Wear:

Please wear a Davidson-Davie shirt, either a blue shirt with a collar or another Davidson-Davie T-shirt. The golf course does not allow denim (no jeans!),  so you may want to consider wearing light long pants, Bermuda shorts or Capri pants and bringing a light jacket – especially for those volunteering for the morning round of golf. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes.

Wearing your Davidson-Davie name badge is always nice for our donors, but not required.

What to Bring:

  • If you’re on the course, we encourage you to bring a camp chair to make you more comfortable.
  • Sunscreen
  • Sunglasses
  • Hat or visor
  • Umbrella or raincoat
  • You are welcome to bring something to read or keep yourself busy. We do ask that when you see players approaching that you watch to see where their ball lands – not only for hole-one-holes but to also keep you safe.

If you have any questions, please call Kristin Briggs 336-224-4596 or cell phone on the day of the tournament: 917-609-6490.

Think sunny thoughts and thank you again for your commitment to making this tournament a success.
